Chris's Birthday Celebration!!

Saturday was a very exciting day for me....Chris came home!!! What was only 3 weeks, felt like 3 months. Chris actually got back in town on Thursday (his birthday), but due to being on orders till Saturday they were not able to come home. I took him his car Thursday evening, so I at least got to see him (even if it was for only 15 minutes). Saturday could not come fast enough. By 12:30pm Saturday, he was walking through our door. Zoe I might add, also was VERY excited! :-)

Since Chris missed his actually birthday with the family, we all went out to his favorite restaurant that evening, Longhorn. We had a great dinner and then headed back to our house for presents and carrot cake. I'm not sure if Chris was really good this year or everyone just really missed him, because he got some awesome gifts! :-) By 8:30, Chris was pooped and was out for the night.

I'm glad you're home honey, I sure missed you!

Bella's quite the little helper! :-)

Happy Father's Day!!

I want to wish my dad a very Happy Father's Day! My dad is the most terrific man I've ever met. He's someone you truly can look up to! He's a hard worker, never lets his family down, and can always find the humor in any situation!
Growing up I was pretty much a tomboy, a daddy's girl if you will. As I've grown into a woman, I would say I'm still pretty much a daddy's girl! I may be a little more girlie but I sure can get down and dirty with dad! :-) Every girl thinks she has the best dad, the difference in me....I know I do! My dad will do anything to help his girls out. When Chris and I bought our house, neither one of us I would say is 'handy'. Dad is always to the rescue, lending a hand and teaching us new things!
When I was younger, dad was always there, he was my cheerleader, my rock, my safety net. Even through the 'bad years', I never felt that he didn't love me (even though at times I didn't deserve to have his love). I knew I could always count on my dad...and I still do.
I want to thank you for everything you do, everything you are, and for making me the person I am! Have a great Father's Day, I love you daddy and I will always be your little girl!

Me and my daddy!

I also want to wish Chris a great Father's Day! Even though he can't be here to help us celebrate all the great men in our lives, he's here in our heart! Even though Chris doesn't get to see his kids as much as he'd like, they are always in his heart and his love for them will always remain! I love watching Chris with his kids, he's truly a great dad. The way they look up to him and cling to him...it defiantly has brought tears to my eyes. So no matter what you're doing today honey, I hope you have a great Father's Day...you deserve it! :-)

Irish Festival!

Today was a pretty low key Saturday....for once! I pretty much laid around, watched some TV and cleaned out my closets and dressers! It's always nice to get rid of the old to make room for the new! :-)

Later in the afternoon Jennifer, Kevin, Isabella and myself ventured down to our local Irish Festival that was taking place this weekend. One of our second cousins is in an Irish band and they were performing there tonight. It was nice to get out of the house. We grabbed some good festival food (including ice cream...that's a must), listened to some good music and walked around. Thanks guys for spending the afternoon with me!

Stop for a pose!

Happy Birthday Bella!

Today Isabella turned 3 and enjoyed a fun filled party at the zoo! Despite the 90+ degree heat, it was a great day and most importantly...Bella had a blast. It was so much fun watching her learn with our own personal tour guide, pet new animals, and of course open all her presents!
Hope you enjoy the pictures of this special little 3 year old!! :-)

Relay For Life 2008!!

Today I had the privilege of being a member on a team for Relay for Life. Fighting the 90 degree heat didn't stop this Cancer curing crowd! There was such a great turn out and it was a lot of fun to get to see all the different booths people had set up. I'm so glad I was able to be part of such a wonderful cause!

Saying Goodbye.... :-(

Today is a sad day for me. This morning at 5:30 I had to say goodbye to Chris! :-( Chris is heading to Michigan for the National Guard today and won't be home until the end of the month. Yup...home alone.....AGAIN!
You'd think with as much time as we've spent apart that we'd be use to it, but I don't think you truly ever get use to being away from the one you love. On top of him being gone, he's missing out on a lot this month, his own birthday for one!
I have a lot going on this month so keep checking back for more updates and pictures. Hopefully it will make the next 3 weeks FLY by! :-)
